COSTS OF SERVICES
I try to provide a flexible payment schedule to provide you and me with security of payments. I will try to keep your costs down by providing you with a flat fee arrangement whenever possible, if you prefer. However, each case is usually unique and variations do occur. As a general guideline, the following fees listed below are typical.

There are many different ways I can assist you, depending upon your needs and financial ability to pay. Full service tends to be the most expensive as it is the most time consuming service.
FULL SERVICE
Full service is the typical attorney/client relationship where you hire me to represent you in all facets of your case. It tends to be the most costly, but also the most comprehensive.
Full services are available for many types of cases - including many types of cases not listed specifically on this web site. However, because so many divorce clients come to me through the web, those price estimates are listed below.

Irreconcilable uncontested divorce with no children - from $345.00, plus court costs - these vary from county to county, but are usually about $185.00 in Knox County.
Irreconcilable uncontested divorce with children - from $445.00, plus court costs -- these vary as above, but in Knox County, they are currently approximately $205.00.
Contested divorce with no children - approximately a $1500.00 nonrefundable retainer plus my hourly rate if we exceed your retainer. Court costs vary and are extra.
Contested divorce with children - approximately a $2500.00 nonrefundable retainer plus my hourly rate if we exceed your retainer. Court costs vary and are extra.
Bankruptcy - Chapter 7 - (check back later).
LIMITED SERVICE
Another option available for prospective clients is to consider hiring my firm to assist you in preparing for a case where the potential value of the case cannot justify hiring an attorney to represent you in all facets of your case or perhaps you cannot afford/justify hiring the attorney to represent you fully. Examples of these types of cases may be divorces involving little assets/debts, consumer problems (such as vehicle purchases and/or loan or contract problems), landlord/tenant disputes, contractual issues, probate issues and so forth.
Typically, the limited service option involves hiring me to represent you in some - but not all - facets of your case. A good example of this type of service is where I represent you during negotiations with the other side, but do not want to have an attorney represent you in court . Having an attorney represent you during negotiations can improve the responsiveness of the other side (e.g., call backs) and indicate to the other side that you are serious about your rights. As a result, these situations can end in favorable settlements, even if your position is on the losing side.
None of the above include court costs, so be sure to inquire about additional costs.
